2.5.7. Offline HD

The Offline HD combo-box allows you to configure the Offline HD feature. This feature, when enabled, performs super-sampling when the compressor is operated in “offline” mode. Offline mode typically applies to DAW features including Freeze and Export, but not real-time operation. The exact scenarios where this feature depends on the host application.

When enabled and active, super-sampling 2x is effectively the same as halving the block size. Likewise, 3x and 4x effectively divide the block size by 3 or 4 respectively. This has the end result of increasing the time resolution of loudness measurements. Although more loudness samples is generally better, it does come with a performance cost and so extremely low block sizes are currently only enabled for offline mode.
