3.2. Browsing and Auditioning
Search matches file information, identity metadata, and detected key labels. Add bpm:128 or bpm: 128 to find tracks that round to 128 BPM, bpm:120-130 for an inclusive range of rounded tempos, or comparisons such as bpm:>=128 and bpm:<130. Decimal places narrow the match: bpm:128.0 matches values rounding to 128.0, and bpm:128.25 narrows to two decimal places. The same precision rule applies to range endpoints and comparisons. BPM filters use the track’s current BPM, including manual corrections, and omit tracks without a BPM. Combine text and filters, for example Artist Name bpm:128; multiple BPM filters must all match.
Click a column heading to sort, and use the filter beside the search field to focus on:
- All tracks
- Ready to mix
- Excluded from mix
- Needs attention
- Missing files
- Favorites (4-5 stars)
Select a local track to audition it. The transport at the bottom of the application is shared across Library, Mix, Gems, and Gem Finder, so playback continues to feel like one listening session while you move between workspaces.
Imported collection tracks can participate in metadata-only planning but do not have local audio. Harmonic DJ identifies them as shared tracks instead of presenting them as broken local files.
The sortable Rating column shows your private 1-5 star preference. Click a star to rate one track, click its current rating again to clear it, or use Personal Rating in the track menu to rate the complete selection.
Right-click a track for Mix placement actions, Personal Rating, BPM Correction, Move to Group, Find Online, Show in Folder, Rescan, and Remove from Library.
Choose Insert After Selected Track and Lock when a Mix track is selected, or Add to End of Tracklist and Lock otherwise. With one Library track and one Mix track selected, Replace Selected Track and Lock replaces that Mix track. These actions lock your choices so later generation keeps them. In the Mix track menu, choose Unlock Track or Unlock Selected Tracks to allow replacement.
